HMAS Supply (II)

The Supply-class Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) ships are the logistical backbone of the Australian fleet, designed to sustain naval task groups at sea for extended durations. Based on the Spanish Navantia Cantabria design, these massive 19,500-tonne vessels—HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart—replaced the aging Success and Sirius. Their primary mission is "Underway Replenishment," using sophisticated gantries to transfer fuel, ammunition, fresh water, and dry stores to other warships while moving at high speed. Unlike their predecessors, the Supply-class is equipped with an Australian-integrated Saab 9LV Combat Management System and a Phalanx CIWS, allowing them to better integrate into high-threat environments. With their double-hulled design and onboard hospital facilities, they serve a dual purpose as high-capacity platforms for humanitarian aid and disaster relief (HADR) missions.
